Mission Statement

The mission of the Asian Pacific Student Dental Association at the Ohio State University is to improve dental health across under-served communities in Ohio through greater access, better communication, and cultural awareness.

how we serve

The Asian Pacific Student Dental Association implements a three-pronged approach when serving the needs of the Asian Community. We feel this approach effectively helps people in need, spreads awareness, and provides dental professionals with opportunities to give back.

OUR FOUNDING MEMBERS

Founding members of the Asian Pacific Student Dental Association (APSDA) include Sung Jin Min, Yuchan Son, Hyejin Cheong, Jae Yoon, Joseph Yong, and Paul Kim.

Greater Access

We provide dental health screenings, consultations, and education to under-served Asian communities in central Ohio. Our Asian Festival has grown larger each year, and serves increasing numbers of patients.

Better Communication

We lower the language barrier by providing interpreter services, translation flyers and other communication initiatives so dental health can reach those in need in our communities. Our community service is extended because of the support, participation, and education of local dental professionals and partner organizations.

Cultural Awareness

We host events throughout the year to increase awareness of the dental health needs within our community. Our events are opportunities to grow local support and fund our dental programs so we can continue serving those in need.
